Peter Lambert de Lintot

France 1726 - 1798

Comments: French engraver ; Creator of the Masonic Rite of Heredom in the Scottish Rite of Freemasonry in England; Alchemy; designed symbol for the Perfect Observance Lodge, but it is his charts of the works of Jakob Bohme and Emanuel Swedenborg which are still of interest today; irected a College of Rites for various Ancient Masonic Lodges; claimed his teachings “bring to Perfection Masons all over the surface of the Earth up to the 7th and 9th Heaven”; “I am the light of Wisdom who support the Philosophical Stone”;

The Rite of Seven Degrees was practiced in “St. George de l’Observance” & “L’Esperance”), and involved climbing a ladder; in 1764, the Grand Master was the Prince of Clermont, while the Deputy Grand Master was the Duke of Chartres; claimed it was from Royal Order of Heredom of Kilwinning, Scotland; merged orders of Seven Degrees and , Lintot would expel Prince Charles Edward Stuart aka Bonnie Prince Charley aka “Grand Master, Grand Commander, Conservator, Guardian of the Pact and Sacred Vow of the Christian Princes” ,1774;
